Ajaero speaks after release, reveals why he was arrested
Hours after his arrest and detained at Abuja airport, the Department of State Services (DSS) has released Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The Labour leader was released on bail at about 11:00pm on Monday but his his passport was seized by the DSS.
_____Ajaero was on his way to a Trade Union Congress (TUC) event in the UK when he was arrested on Monday morning.
While speaking immediately after his release, Ajaero said he was questioned over alleged terrorism financing involving a British national, Andrew Wynne.
,,,,,He added that the police officers also grilled him over the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests that took place in August.
However, the police have also summoned Ajaero and NLC’s Secretary-General, Emmanuel Ugboaja, for further questioning later in the month.
