ANBROAD Holds Maiden National Congress, Decides On Critical Matters (Photos)

Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD) has held its maiden national congress on Thursday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital

In a detail report signed by the Oyo State Secretary General, OKEDIJI OOB, AFRICAN BULEE and made available to the OsunReporters News by the Osun State Publicity Secretary, AKOMOLAFE EMMANUEL DEE-CHOSEN in Osogbo on Friday, explained that some critical decisions for the progress of the association were made at the congress.

BEING AN EXTRACT OF THE MAIDEN NATIONAL CONGRESS HELD TODAY, THURSDAY, 22ND AUGUST, 2024, AT YES FM, IBADAN.

1. COMMENCEMENT: It was done by an opening prayer at 12:30pm.

2. PRESIDENT’S SPEECH: This was delivered by the President, MR GRA. The speech, among others, contains:

(a) Generation of UPN (Unique Professional Number) for every registered member.

(b) I.D. cards are for those who have completed their data base forms and submitted with their passports.

(c) Little addition to the constitution from the office of the president, such as .. Changing the designation of chairman to GOVERNOR at state level.

Inauguration of B.O.T. as it was done: ALH SULAIMAN ADEGBENRO ( Chairman); MOGAJI KOLA AKINTAYO; ALH ABDULFATAI DAN KAZEEM; CHIEF MRS IBIYEMI AJADI; CHIEF KOKOIRIN AYINDE; ALH BISI AJIBOYE; CHIEF KOLADE ALABI are members of the BOT.

Further more on the constitution, Mr President appointed Chief Olu Akindele as the AMBASSADOR for ANBROAD nation wide. He was decorated for it fully.

Still on the constitution, Mr GRA, inaugurated COUNCIL OF ELDERS: He called out elders in each state for oaths of office, and he made DR YEMI SONDE as the Chairman. In short, all proposals that concerned constitution were unanimously approved by the Congress.

(d). Also, in the speech of Mr President, we were told that ANBROAD has been duely registered with CAC, Corporate Affairs Commission. For any Branch to open Bank Account, request could be made.

(e) Powerful evangelism for more members and expansion of the Association to all other parts of the country should be made by everybody. Frantic efforts have being made towards Kogi, Ambuja, etc. Though, QUALITY MEMBERS were seriously emphasized.

(f). In the same vein, the President talked about National Inauguration fixed for 17th November, 2024, at Ibadan. The committee has been set, headed by V.P1, and it includes all State chairmen, NCCS, and others selected. It may involve buying of cloths and invitation of a popular musician for the day.

NSG REPORTS: The reports from the office of National Secretary General were accordingly made. From his reports, membership is almost 300, registered.; Some States are yet to up date their records as expected.; All members were advised to have hard copy of our constitution; the entertainment for the Congress was shouldered by the National Executives and well wishers.

REPORTS FROM THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY AND TREASURER: These were summarily given as, out of 1,930,00, handed over by National Steering Committee, Media Parley was organized, contracts were made on ID cards and others. The balance as at this meeting is #336, 291 in the bank.

A O B: Some observations and suggestions were made.:(a) Having unified outfits, especially, for this kind of meeting. (b) Having an anthem for the Association. Though, it should be composed in English Language.

DISTRIBUTION OF ID CARDS: This was done by the NSG to all those qualified States. Oyo State would have her own ID cards very soon.
