BREAKING: Nigerian popular music producer is dead

Jayy has grown from an underground hip-hop producer to one of Nigeria’s most famous producers.

The young music producer died at the age of 27 on Saturday, November 20, 2021, following a brief illness.
Jayy was known to be an associate of AQ, MI Abaga, Blaqbonez, and Loose Kaynon. He has also produced for iLLBliss, Teeto Ceemos and more.

At the time of his death, he was working on his fourth corpus as well as an EP with Jay Teazer.

In recent years, Jayy has grown from a simple underground hip-hop producer to one of Nigeria’s most famous producers.

In the first half of 2020, his stock increased after producing “JUDAH EP” for Abaga, “God’s Engineering” for AQ and “The Love Report” for Abaga and AQ.

Meanwhile, In the years leading up to that, he heavily taped AQ outings after meeting the award-winning rapper as a junior at King’s College Lagos.

An artist from Surulere, who grew up in a family of music-loving parents, also performed under the nickname Big Daddy Jayy and released three EPs, “Replay Value EP” in 2017, “Road To Jaynius” in 2019 and “Jaynius’ in 2020.


However, he also delivered memorable hooks on AQ and ‘Crown’ by Loose Kaynon via ‘God Wants Us To Be Lit’ and ‘Clap For Yourself’ by Abaga and AQ.
On ‘Jaynius’ he had the record ‘Mad Ohh.’
In 2021, he produced Loose Kaynon’s ‘Survivor’s Remorse’ and Sex Over Love ’Blaqbonez.
That his soul rests in peace.
