Meet APC National Youths Leader Hopeful, Olaitan Asimiyu

In an interview with the OSUNREPORTERS Correspondent, the National APC Youth Leader Aspirant, Honourable Olaitan Asimiyu, who is from Osun State, enumerated his vision and mission to serve in that capacity.

“During my era as the APC National Youth Leader, we shall engage Nigerian your youths in entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition. Leadership Training and Re-training among Youths.

“In this 21st century, we should be talking about 50% involvement of youths in governance by dominating the elected offices at both Federal, State, Local and Ward levels.

“With the support of Nigerian youth, my administration shall be the voice of Nigerian Youths across levels,” Olaitan expressed.

He is an indigene of Osogbo, the Osun State capital, his public services and activism started during his undergraduate days as one the students union leaders both at the state and national levels.

Politically, Olaitan served in 2004/2005 as Party agent in the Alliance For Democracy (AD). He was the ward youth leader in the year 2004 and 2005.

In 2007, he contested for Councellorship position in Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). He was Member, Mobilization Committee Osogbo Federal Constituency Governorship election in 2007, as well as Youths/Students Focal coordinator in Osogbo local government for Governorship election same year.

In 2011, he was the Yourhs/Students Mobilizer coordinator in Osogbo local government area for General election.

Ward Collation Agent in 2011 and coordinator of Independent Campaign Group (ICG) in Osun State in 2015

In 2015, he was the Local Government Collation Officer and Youths/Students Mobilizing Committee for the General Election

Member of the Osogbo Federal Constituency Committee, and Member Osogbo Local Government Education Authority Board since 2019. Member of Osogbo/ Olorunda LGA APEX APC Tactical Committee till date.

Olaitan Asimiyu has declared intention to run for the office of the National Youths Leader Of All Progressives Congress, (APC)

APC youth leader hopeful, who has served at many capacity in Osun APC, boasted of winning the office of the National Youths Leader of the part in the forthcoming National Convention slated to hold February 26 with support of all youths of the party in the South West and Nigeria at large. He said the train of his consultation has has started reaching out to reach members of the party within and outside his zone.

He noted that the generation of young people is better connected than ever before, with linkages to activists and movements nationwide, adding that he will use available instrument to explore for engendering wider network really needed to position the party on the advantage of political youth movements.

According to Asimiyu, “As a matter of fact, our party APC, through its standing network of cerebral, dynamic and strategic youths, was able to beat all the odds in the last general election, and has been able to sustain its insurmountable and formidable status since then. This portends the unique niche the youths cluster of our great party has created for itself.

“This is the same path which my aspiration and subsequent leadership (if elected) seek to set the teeming youths of party on for I believe strongly in productive mobilization and engagement of this virile cluster for sustainable political and social development of our land through our party APC.

“I believe the teeming youths of our party, are readily available tools in the hands of our party, to chisel the minds of youths from every corner of this glorious nation Nigeria, into realizing the necessity of an APC continuity.


“After due diligence and allegiance the progressive fold, I have come to realize that all that have come out for this position today, are young men with the wherewithal to captain the youth ship through the stormy future that lies ahead. All of us are able and capable which is why it is also a perfect choice to vote for me,” he added.
