N-Power Official, Beneficiaries Exchange Words Over May Stipend (read Npower reply)
As Npower beneficiaries across the State of the Federation expected the month of May stipends till the last day of the month, Muslims among the beneficiaries were indeed in need of their stipends to enjoy Eid-el-Fitr celebration but the reverse is the case till after the Eid celebration.
While Npower officials took to their Twitter page to wish all Muslim beneficiaries a happy Eid-el-Fitr, majority of the replies under the message were unexpected as beneficiaries replied aggressively.
Many of the replies kicked against the failure to pay during Muslim festival (Eid-el-Fitr) while the reverse is the case during Xmas known as Christian festival.
One of the replies from @Fareed_Dbt says: “It would have been well celeberated if u had paid them their stipend sha.. But if it were Xmas stipend wud have bn paid for long..So cruel and inhuman of you!”
Responding to the replies, Npower official @Npower_ng says: “The intended religious colouration of when stipends are paid is very sad.
“N-Power as a programme does not hold money. The funds of the Social Investment Programmes are domiciled with the Ministry of Budget and Planning.
You can express displeasure without religious intonation.”
While another replied from @Hopyroll was in different view.
As at the time of filling this report, Npower has not ascertain the payment time for the Month of May as no one knows the reason behind the delay.
