Abdul Adamu Kinkiba, a councilor in Kaduna’s Soba Local Government Area, was arrested by security personnel stationed around the Galadimawa axis of the Giwa Local Government Area.

Kinkiba was reportedly apprehended with an AK 47 near a bandit hideout terrorizing locals.

According to sources, the councillor was riding a motorcycle with the gun when he was stopped.

Kinkiba claimed the gun was provided to him by someone whose name he couldn’t recall, according to a vigilante source.

“He said he was told that the gun was meant for the convoy of someone. According to him, he was instructed to park immediately after the bridge near Galadimawa forest (a known hideout of bandits), where somebody would collect the gun.”

Engineer Suleiman Yahaya Richifa, the chairman of the Soba local government area, confirmed that the suspect is the councilor who represents Kinkiba ward in the council.

“I’m in serious grief about the news, plase allow me to overcome my shock.” he said, declining to say anything else

It was gathered that the suspect has been taken to the Kaduna State Police Command headquarters for further interrogation.
