Osun State Chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has sent condolence messages to the family of Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa over his demise.

According to the message released by the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo, which was made available to OsunReporters in Osogbo, the PDP chairman described the former Commissioner for Education in the old Oyo state under the regime of the late Sage, Chief James Ajibola Ige, between 1979 and 1983 as a great educationist, policy manager and progressive innovator who managed the free education policy of the UPN regime under Chief Bola Ige with success.

He also credited the the former Senator who bid this world farewell at the ripe age of 80 years as a decent leader whose public and private live style became a symbol of authority in Nigeria and was worthy of emulation.

Adagunodo also described the former Senator of the Federal Republic, who represented Osun East Senatorial district between 1999 and 2003 under the platform of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, as a bridge builder whose political affiliation was not allowed to affect his mutual relationship with humanity and those around him irrespective of their political, religious and social beliefs.

According to the chairman of the main opposition party, “even as the National Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy, Senator Akinfenwa didn’t relent in giving useful advice to Ijesa sons and daughters who were later members of the ruling PDP when his party, the AD, which later became an opposition party after it was defeated out of power in Osun and Nigeria in 2003 by the Peoples Democratic Party in an electoral Tsunami.”

Adagunodo therefore calls on Nigerian politicians to take a queue and emulate the noble way of accessible politicking that Baba Akinfenwa was known with during his life time.

He also prayed to God to give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, regretting that his death has already created a big vacuum and deep gully in the political landscape of Nigeria that will be difficult to fill.

Adagunodo also prayed to Almighty God to grant him eternal rest.
