Panic As PDP Candidate Shot Dead

News reaching the OsunReporters News confirmed that Raymond Timothy, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) councillorship candidate for Pari Ward in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been shot dead by gunmen.

In a tragic incident, his brother, James Timothy, was also killed in the attack.

Local sources revealed that the two were ambushed while returning from a political campaign event in Kizachi Village on Sunday evening. Barnabas Chawai, a prominent PDP member in the area, shared the details, expressing concerns that the attack may have been politically motivated.

However, he urged security agencies to take swift action, highlighting the need to prevent further violence as the October 19 local government elections approach.

According to him; “The victim leaves behind three children, and his wife is pregnant with their fourth,” Chawai revealed, calling for justice.

_____John Wanneh, the Secretary to the Village Head of Kizachi, confirmed the attack, stating that they had been with the victim just minutes before hearing gunshots near local farms. While Wanneh couldn’t confirm if the attack was politically motivated, he emphasized the need for improved infrastructure, noting that poor…..road conditions and a river hinder access to the village, complicating emergency responses.
