CHRISTMAS: Sokeye Advocates Sacrifice For Others
A businessman cum politician based in Chicago Illinois, United States of America, Hon. Muhammed Shokeye has urged Nigerians to continue making sacrifices for others, as a way for human advancement and betterment of the society.
This was contained in a statement personally signed by Shokeye and made available to OSUNREPORTERS NEWS in Osogbo on the occasion of celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ on Friday.
The Chief Executive Officer of Showkey African Store, Chicago Illinois implored all to borrow a leaf from the life of sacrifice, which Jesus lived, that makes Christmas a popular and annual celebration worldwide.
According to him, (if we want to make outstanding progress in our endeavours and life, we must not jettison the needful sacrifices that are associated with it”.
“We must endeavour to build up our lives with the mentality of rendering selfless services, efforts and sacrifices, like Jesus Christ, who left His comfort zone to die for the sins of the world on the cross of Calvary”, he said.
Hon. Shokeye, an Osogbo born politician who charged well meaning Nigerians to extend hands of fellowship to the less privileged in the society, also urged Governments at all levels to see to the plights of the people instead of politicising issues that are affecting the welfare of the masses.
“Those at the corridors of power today must be reminded to rather look into the plights of their people and provide succour for them, at this critical time, instead of indulging in selfishness and personal aggrandizement, only to gain political scores” Hon. Shokeye said.
He therefore wished all Christians a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2021 in advance.
