Nigerian Governor Fires Aide For Recklessness
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has terminated the appointment of his Executive Assistant (Communication), Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq.
This was contained in a sack letter dated December 29, 2021, signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Patrick Ukah.
According to the letter, the move became necessary because of the governor’s displeasure over Latimore’s conduct with respect to the performance of his duties, adding that “there has been manifest recklessness and insubordination.”
“As this trend can no longer be tolerated, I regret to inform you that your service as Executive Assistant, Communication, is no more required and your appointment is hereby terminated,” the letter said.
Adding: “Accordingly, I am to request that you take necessary steps to hand over all government properties in your possession to the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocol forthwith.”
Recall that recently Latimore took the social media where he alleged that his boss has not treated him fairly for the past five years he has worked with him, just as he said that Okowa was surrounded by certain persons that have made him nepotistic in his dealings, citing his experience were he has been denied certain benefits that accrue to his office like others in the media department of the state government.
A recent case he lamented about was the 25 million naira released by Okowa to his media team that Latimore alleged was diverted by a few, saying that he got fifty thousand naira and two repackaged 25kg bags
