Man electrocuted while attempting to steal transformer cable in Osogbo
A yet-to-be identified man has been confirmed dead after he was electrocuted in the early hours of Monday, 15th August, 2022, OSUNREPORTERS NEWS gathered.
The incident, which was was described as a failed attempt to vandalize a transformer at Kolade Estate, Onward Area, OgoOluwa in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Some residents who were at the scene, spoke with the OSUNREPORTERS NEWS Correspondent on the condition of anonymity said the suspect’s dead body was seen hanging on the transformer’s fence in an attempt to cutting out of the three armoured cables before he unexpectedly met his untimely death.
One of the residents explained; “We met his lifeless body hanging on the transformer ‘s fence.
“He was electrocuted and his body was completely burnt, it is very obvious that he was electrocuted.
“He hasn’t cut down any cable. I think he tried to complete the cutting from the base before the light came,” he added.
At the time of filing this report, the victim’s lifeless body had been taken away by the appropriate authority.
