Two College students drown while crossing dam

Information reaching the OsunReporters News has it that two students from Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Makoda, lost their lives in a tragic drowning incident while attempting to cross the Thomas Dam in Kano state.

,,,—______”””””According to reports, the victims have been identified as Abubakar Sanusi, aged 22, and Salisu Ado, aged 21.

While confirming the incident on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, said a third student, Ibrahim, aged 21, was fortunate enough to be rescued alive and is currently receiving medical attention at Dambatta General Hospital.

,,,,,_____According to Abdullahi’s statement, the incident occurred on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024. The State Fire Department, stationed in Danbatta local government area, received an emergency call at approximately 15:06 hours from Comrade Ibrahim Muhammad, who reported the incident.

:::::””””””Upon receiving the distress call, fire service officers swiftly responded, arriving at the scene of the tragedy at around 15:27 hours. Upon arrival, they discovered three students from Audu Bako College of Agriculture in Makoda local government who had boarded a boat to cross the dam. Tragically, the boat capsized, leading to the drowning of Abubakar Sanusi and Salisu Ado.

____””””””;;;;;However, amidst the grim situation, there was a glimmer of hope as the boat driver managed to rescue Ibrahim, one of the students, aged about 21, alive from the water.
