Funke Akindele Breaks Silence Over AMCVA 2024, As ‘Tribe Called Judah’ Loses All 3 Nominations
The popular Nollywood actress, filmmaker and producer, Funke Akindele has taken to her Instagram page to react after her blockbuster movie “A Tribe Called Judah” missed out on all nominations for the year 2024.
The just concluded 10th edition of the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) nominated Funke’s latest movie “A Tribe Called Judah” in the categories; Best Movie, Best Lead Actress, and Best Makeup Artist.
But despite three nominations, her movie fell short, with Kehinde Bankole clinching the Best Lead Actress award for “Adire” and “Breath of Life” securing the Best Movie title.
,,,,,,,However, Funke took to her Instagram story after the just concluded award night to react to her loss, leaving a dark, blank page, which could possibly portray a sign of disappointment, for losing all three nominations.
,,,,,,,Recall that “A Tribe Called Judah” had made waves as the highest-grossing Nollywood film, with over one billion naira at the box office.
Her reaction has made many people expressed their mind for or against the AMVCA outcome on the movie.
