Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, Osun State Commissioner of Information and Public Enlightenment has charged the general public not to join the bandwagon of people criticizing the leadership especially the government without facts and figures, OsunReporters News gathered.

Oluomo Kolapo, made this call at the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) Public Lecture and Award Presentation of a-week-long program held in Osun State Capital Osogbo on Wednesday to Mark the maiden Osun Digital Media Week.

The commissioner, who won the Best commissioner of the year 2023 award in the state after he scooped 48% of the over five thousand votes via online voting by the people of Osun State to beat other 4 nominees in the category, appreciated the award and thanked the organizers for the job done.

The commissioner urged journalists especially the online publishers to criticize constructively where necessary and encourage Governor Ademola Adeleke to do more to develop Osun, stating that the Governor has embarked on building 5 flyovers that will spread across the state without the state borrowing money to execute the project which would cost over N100Billion

In his words; “Ondo State Ailing Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, who has refused to resign or pass the bar to his Deputy for his inability to actively carry on as the governor of state, criticized former Nigeria President, Late Umar Musa Yar’dua for what has become impossible for him today. Likewise, President Bola Tinubu who removed fuel subsidy played active leadership role to campaign against Former President Goodluck Jonathan for subsidy removal for his own political game and people followed blindly”, Alimi said.

Oluomo Kolapo Alimi then urged the citizens to follow up on and checkmate the governor Ademola Adeleke on the projects at hand as this would be meaningful and better than waiting to criticize his failure at the end of the day.

The commissioner however appreciate OOPA for awarding excellence within the state and the gesture would charge everyone to work more because the winner are being chosen by the citizens which shows true acceptability by the people of the State.

Alimi, had served two terms of solid 8 years as commissioner under the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola but fell out with his principal’s successor Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola before been appointed as Commissioner of Information and Public Enlightenment under the administration of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke.
