National Assembly appeals electoral act judgement
The National Assembly has started the process of appealing the judgment of a Federal High Court, Umuahia, Abia State, which removed Section 84(12) from the Electoral Act 2022.
….The section bars all political appointees including ministers, commissioners and aides from contesting or voting in any party primary.
,,,,Some members of the executive, including the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, ABUBAKAR MALAMI, had opposed the section, saying it was undemocratic.
