As Muslims celebrate this year Eid-el-Fitr across the glob, the National Coordinator of the Asiwaju Grassroot Foundation, Comrade Olateju Adunni Olorungbebe has charged Muslims to eschew bitterness and uphold the lessons of Ramadan.

In a release made available to OSUN REPORTERS, Olateju admonished for reflection of the teachings of Ramadan as Muslims end the holy month.

In his words, “Months, days and years are made to determine lifespan and to afford people the opportunity to perform good deeds. Further, death do patrol day and night to take the souls of those whose time is due and we shall be addressed on the Day of Resurrection on account of our deeds. It is then that your Lord will say:
(These are only your deeds that has been recorded for you and for which I am going to reward you. So, whoever gets a good reward should be thankful to Allaah and whoever gets otherwise should only blame himself.)

“As we end the blessed month of Ramadan, its beautiful days and its fragrant nights. We leave the month of the Qur’an, taqwa, patience, jihad, mercy, forgiveness and freedom from hellfire.
Let us ask ourselves, have we fulfilled the requirements of taqwa and graduated from the Ramadan school with diploma of the God-fearing?”

He further explained why we shouldn’t go back to what is against the teachings from the holy Qur’an as the holy month of Ramadan has purified us from our previous sins.

“Have we fought our souls and desires and defeated them, or have we been overtaken by our customs and blind imitations?
Allah SWT says:
(Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (i.e. small sins). That is a reminder (an advice) for the mindful (those who accept advice).” (Suratu’l Hood 11:114)

“The Prophet SAW also said:
(Fear Allah wherever you are, follow up the evil deed with good one it will remove it and relate with people with good conduct.” (Reported by At-Tirmidhee)

“Let those who are determined to go back to sins after Ramadaan know that Allah is always pleased with those who obey Him regardless of the month the obedience takes place and is angry with those who disobey Him irrespective of the month the disobedience takes place. The essence of prosperity lies in long life and good deeds and a person’s continuation of good deeds without restricting it to a certain period, particular month or special place is a sign of one’s righteousness and acceptance of his good deeds, he concluded
