OSUN: 2000 Residents Benefit From Free Training, Grants To Startup Small Scale Businesses

In continuation of the efforts of the Osun State government to cushion the effect of the current economy and financial predicament among residents, not less than 2000 people has again benefited from the free training and grant to startup different small scale businesses across the state.

This initiative is a drive by the Ede born kindhearted politician who is the Honourable Commissioner for Human Resources and Capacity Building, Hajia Lateefat Giwa through the State Ministry of Human Resources and Capacity building in partnership with Osun State Chapter of Association of Local Government Of Nigeria (ALGON) and facilitated by Mrs Victoria Oluwaseun.

The beneficiaries were trained by ‘One Community One Industry’ in Osogbo Grammar school, Osogbo; Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife; Akinorun Grammar school, Ikinrun; Seventh Day Adventist High school, Ede; Iwo Baptist High school on how to make different local products such as: Locust-beans, Shel butter, local soap and oil among other useful products for free by the state government.

While speaking at the presentation programme where 2000 beneficiaries across the local government were given N10,000 each to start what they’ve been trained for, Hajia Lateefat Giwa applauded the state Governor, Alh Goyega Oyetola for the approval of the programme, adding that it affirmed how the welfare of the people of Osun top his agenda while it will add to the economic value of the state and place Osun forward in terms of local products in Nigeria.

Eminent personalities from both political and business sectors graced the occasion where beneficiaries thanked and gave kudos to the people’s Governor, Oyetola in reducing economic hardship through the programme.


OSUNREPORTERS NEWS recalled that, over 500 people from Ede Federal Constituency were recently trained on different small scale businesses on how to be shelf reliance to cohesion the effect of Covid-19 pandemic among the constituents sponsored by Hajia Lateefat Giwa in Ede, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency.
