Titi Laoye-Ponnle mourns Omidiran’s death, commiserates family, Osogbo community

The immediate past Deputy Governor of Osun State and Golden Daughter of Osogbo, Otunba (Mrs) Titi Laoye-Ponnle has described the demise of Asiwaju of Osogboland, Alhaji Ahmeed Omidiran as a huge loss to the entire Osogbo community, Osun state, Yoruba race and the entire Nation.

This was contained in the condolence message made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Sunday, describing Omidiran as exemplary father and leader during his lifetime, adding that his contribution to the socio-economic and cultural development of Osogbo will forever be remembered.

“I send my condolences to the Omidiran family and Osogbo in general over the exit of an exemplary leader of Osogbo. Baba Omidiran is a true definition of patriotic statesman from whom we learnt so much about his contributions to the development of our dear town. He was a builder of men and his impacts on every phases of Osogbo evolution to become the capital of Osun state in the year 1991 remains a watershed in the compendium of history.

“No doubt, posterity will forever be kind to Baba, for being a selfless leader, advocate of equity and justice, a lover of growth and most importantly, a father-figure to all irrespective of religious or political affiliations, he will forever be missed.


“I pray to God to overlook all his shortcomings and make Aljanat firdaos his final abode”, Titi Laoye said.
