Evacuation of Nigerians living in South Africa who are under xenophobic attacks has been scheduled for today Saturday 7th September.

A statement from the Nigerian Immigration Service obtained by The Precision NG from the Twitter handle of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) – @nidcom_gov, noted that the evacuation of Nigerians willing to leave the country begin this weekend free of charge.

The statement acknowledged the generosity of a patriotic Nigerian airline operator and philanthropist, Chief Allen Onyema who has promised to use his airline to evacuate distressed Nigerians in South Africa.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has conveyed the generosity of a patriot Nigerian airline operator and philanthropist Chief Allen Onyema to evacuate distressed Nigerians in South Africa who wish to return to Nigeria.
The evacuation is already scheduled for 7/09/2019,” the statement read.

The airline with the support of the Federal Government had scheduled to begin evacuating Nigerians from South Africa from September 6.

The plan however suffered a setback as the majority of those interested in the process have expired passports.

Nigerians without legal documents in South Africa have since been advised to take advantage of the evacuation flight to return to the country.

Attached is the copy of the letter from the Nigerian Immigration Service indicating the process for evacuation:
