4 Illegal Miners, 2 Truck Loads Of Marble Stones Arrested By Àmòtékùn Corps In Osogbo

Finding out their claim from the authority of the affected Local Council Development Area, it was revealed that their claim was false and mischievous.

Two truck loads of marble stones transported by suspected illegal miners, were intercepted by the Osun State team of Amotekun corps, led by its Director General, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, at LAMECO area of Osogbo, the state capital on Monday.

According to the report, each truck was occupied by a driver and motor boy, who said they were conveying the precious stones from Oba-Oke, in Olorunda North LCDA of Osun State, to Lagos, claiming they were registered miners.

Finding out their claim from the authority of the affected Local Council Development Area, it was revealed that their claim was false and mischievous.

The two truck loads of marble stones have been impounded at the state police command, while the four victims were handed over to the command for further investigations as at press time.


While reacting, the Director General of Àmòtékùn Osun, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, expressed displeasure that some people still engage in economic sabotage; calling on residents to always alert the state security outfit whenever they observe any suspicious movement or activity in any part of the state of Osun.
