Amotekun Operatives Attacked In Osun
The Operatives of Amotekun Anti-Cultism Squad were waylaid on Thursday by Thugs and Cultists in Iree on their way to a program at Osun State Polytechnic Iree Main Campus.
The Amotekun received a call from the Registrar of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree on the Anti-Cultism Crusade on the campus a program planning for usefulness to the state at large.
Speaking to Journalists in Osogbo after the incident, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said his men meant know arms to anyone before they were attacked by the thugs and the cultists.
He asserted that his men received a call from the Registrar of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree on the Anti-Cultism Crusade a program planning for usefulness to the state at large on their way to the institution campus after school gate they met two team of thugs and cultists who their leader is Seun Mukaila and Gbedu with their followers who tried as much as possible to attack the operatives and the operatives come down from the vehicle to address them as a gentleman but doing the speech of address it’s was hectic and it turns to mutiny and they attack due to their population and they tried to disarm the operatives and in the course of struggle one of the operatives was care and stab with Knife and he had been rushed to the hospital for treatment immediately and he is responding to treatment.
The matter has been reported to the Osun Police Anti-Cultism Unit and they promised to work on it immediately”. Adewinmbi said.
He urged the state government to provide more equipment that could be used to curb criminals and murder in the state, he assured the residents of the state of maximum security of lives and property during the yuletide and after.
