Another INEC office set ablaze 4 days to election

,,,,,Protesters in Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria, set ablaze the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office, located in the Sagamu Local Government Secretariat.

The incident took place on Monday, during a protest about the scarcity of the Naira.

The protest began in front of the palace of the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, where some youths barricaded roads and set bonfires.

,,,,,,The protest later escalated, and the protesters went on to burn the Sagamu office of the Ibadan Electric Distribution (IBEDC) and three commercial banks.

The police responded to the incident, releasing a statement warning criminals not to use any guise to unleash mayhem on residents.

The statement by the police spokesman in Ogun, Abimbola Oyeyemi, noted that the police would not allow any disruption of the peace being enjoyed in the state.

It also said that intelligence at the disposal of the Command indicates that some criminal elements are planning to take advantage of the challenging economic situation.
