APC Receives Atunto Osun PDP Caucus Leaders, Set For Massive Defection In Osogbo Federal Constituency

Members of a political caucus within the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ‘Atunto Osun’, have declared intention to join forces with the All Progressive Congress (APC) ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.

Representatives of the caucus in Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency made this known while addressing members of the APC at a political gathering organized to familiarize the group with the APC leaders held at the residence of former deputy governor of Osun State and Chairperson of APC leaders in the federal Constituency, Otunba Titi Tomori-Ponnle on Sunday.

In their separate remarks, Alh Idowu Agbaje Starpool, Lord Emmanuel and Mr Akin Adeyi said on behalf of the decampees that the collective efforts of the Osun State PDP put together to win the governorship election has been thrown into dustbin by the Ademola Adeleke led-government, noting that thousands of Atunto Osun members are set to openly join APC to reclaim Osun in 2026.

Other leaders who speak on behalf of youth and women within the Atunto Osun caucus, Desmond Adekanola and Alhaja Nofiu Kudirat, reaffirmed the readiness of the decampees to join and work for APC in Osun to end PDP era in the state, adding that the political agenda and calculation within the APC are in line with the Atunto Osun caucus focus, unlike that of their former party dominated by Adeleke dynasty.

Speaking on behalf of the APC federal Constituency, former deputy governor of Osun, Otunba Titi Tomori-Ponnle, expressed her satisfaction towards the decision of Atunto Osun caucus to join the winning team, noting that the leadership of the party is receiving them with open hands and happiness.

She assured the decampees of equal treatment, political benefits and most especially a team work to reclaim Osun from PDP.

In their separate remarks, Rt Hon Akintunde Adegboye, former Deputy Speaker OSHA; Hon Nasiru Olateju, former Honourable representing Irepodun/Orolu State Constituency, Hon Rasaki Adeosun, Hon Rufus Oyegbile, Chief Kayode Esuleke, Mrs Felicia Omolayo and Hon Layi Oyeduntan welcomed the decampees into the progressive party, assuring them of fairness, level playing field and equal treatment.

Some leaders of the Atunto Osun PDP Caucus who were received by the APC leaders from Osogbo local government are; Chief Debo Adeyemo; Sulaiman Banji; Alhaja kudurat nofiu; Alhaja mojirade; Mr Uzain; Baba regiregi; Mr sikiru; Mrs Sherifat Adeyinka among others.
Olorunda local government; Alh Idowu Agbaje starpool; Alh Kunle Jimoh; Mr Ogunsola Emanuel; Alh Ademola Adeloye; Adekanola Desmond among others.
Orolu local government are: MR Jelili Ojuolape; Mr Kunle Adeogbo while Irepodun local government include Awal Adebayo; Isaac Atanda among other decampees.

The event which was attended by APC Local government party Chairmen, leaders of the party in the State and federal Constituency, which include; Hon Rufus Oyegbile, Hon Assan Taiwo Sunmonu, Hon Kamil Oyedele, Hon Sola Oladepo, Hon Bukola Oyewo, Hon Rasaq Oyedele, Hon Waheed Adeniran among others.
