The vice president of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the Northern States and Abuja, Reverend John Hayab, during a press briefing in Kaduna on Friday, said that an additional N5 million had been paid before the thugs can free the student.

The released student, who happened to be the principal of the school, allegedly let go for health reasons.

Meanwhile, Hayab, also said that the kidnappers of the 66 faithful of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kakau Daji in the Chikun local government area in Kaduna state, demanded a ransom of 99 million naira to free the people. 61 kidnapped people remaining in their custody after killing five.


The faithful, numbering 66, were kidnapped by bandits who invaded the church on Sunday, October 31, 2021 during a religious service.
Two of those kidnapped were killed instantly; two others were shot later while one was injured and hospitalized.
