COVID-19: MUPAF Lauds Governor Oyetola, Charges Nigerians To Join Govt In Fighting Global Pandemic

The leadership of Muslim Political Awareness Front (MUPAF) has commended the Osun State Government under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the proactive measures applied in fighting the Covid-19 global pandemic in the state.

MUPAF also called on the citizens to support government in fighting the deadly virus and called the ministry of health to urgently put in place intervening measures aimed at protecting people of the from Coronavirus while government should come out with palliative measures for people at this trying time.

On behalf of the group, Mallam Lukuman Obembe who is the National Coordinator, noted that all hands must be on deck to ensure that the virus is not given more space in the Nigeria and that all and sundry should take the virus as real.

According to him, “With the confirmation of the 20th case in Osun aside from the index in Nigeria, we can no longer shy away from the fact that the COVID- 19 is here with us in the country.

“The ministry of of health should intensify efforts and make sure that we have hand washing materials in all our public places.

“We should be sensitive and careful of any gathering and avoid hugging and shaking of hands. Let us not be deceived, the virus is not resistant to any blood,” Obembe said.

MUPAF Coordinator admonished people of the state and Nigeria at large to maintain good hygeiene, adding that they must cough and sneeze into their elbows so as not to spread the virus.

He held that for WHO to have recorded more than 1 million cases and more than half a million people have lost their lives to the virus, Osun must not join in the believe that the virus will not have impact in our environment but join in supporting the effort of the government in curbing this global pandemic.


MUPAF however charged residents and citizens of Nigeria to always use disinfectants on objects such as phones, computers and kitchen utensils and door knobs.
