Ex-Provost advocates improved welfare for health workers

Immediate Past Provost, Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ilorin, Alhaji Imam Abubakar-Ayinla has identified improved welfare of health workers as the only panacea in curbing prerenial medical brain drain in Nigeria.

Alhaji Abubakar Imam-Ayinla dropped this hint while featuring on the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Radio Kwara Chapel in-house interactive engagement tagged “Viewpoint” held at the Newsroom of the Station

He emphasized the need for government at all levels to deeply understand reason doctors and nurses travel abroad in search for greener pasture towards tackling their emerging challenges

Alhaji Abubakar-Ayinla who is a frontline nurse in the state, noted that improved welfare for health workers would enable them to be more productive and efficient in the their professional calling

In his remark NUJ Chairman of the Chapel, Mallam Abdul-Hameed Funsho Alaiye said the choice of Alhaji Imam-Ayinla was not by accident but strategic to Recognize individuals who have immensely contributed to the society.


Mallam Funsho-Alaiye explained that his practice and pedigree of his personality in the health sector could not be underestimated as the union invited him to tap from his resourceful pool of knowledge
