EXPOSED!! How Rector Allegedly Runs Federal Poly As Personal Company In Osun
Revealing many of his activities as rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Dr John Taiwo Adekolawole has been enmeshed in a series of allegations of abuse of power, nepotism, suppression of dissenting voices and flagrant violation of rule of law.
According Mr. A. Masopa, the chairman of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic ASUP, federal poly Ede chapter, “since he took over as rector, it as been a tenure of indiscriminate issuance of queries, lopsided appointments, nepotism, disobedience to extant rule and others.”
Investigation shows that few months after his appointment as rector since December 11 2017, Dr Edaogbogin gave his wife, Mrs Olukemi Adekolawole what can be regarded as triple promotion.
According to a letter sighted by our correspondent, Mrs Adekolawole was promoted from CONTEDISS 7 to CONTEDISS 9 and back dated it to January 2017, while the financial benefit started from January 2018.
Another letter saw by our correspondent revealed that Mrs Adekolawole was deemed not to be promoted in July 2017 due to what the junior staff Appointment and promotion committee described as ‘inadequate qualifications’.
Members of the community who spoke with us under condition of anonymity said the Mrs Adekolawole did not merit the promotion given to her by her husband as she had not added any qualification as at the time she was promoted.
Our source also revealed that promotion committee supposed to sit on her matter and should not be a unilateral decision of the Rector.
In his reaction, the Rector said his wife was promoted accordingly, stating that she is even due for promotion to level 11.
He said, “for your information, my wife was duly promoted. She is now a chartered accountant and she is even on level eleven. We are going to do next upgrading, those with ICAN will be promoted.”
