Fear Grips Community In Osun Over Food Seller’s Death
The people of Ibodi community in Atakumonsa West Local Government Area of Osun are currently in fear as youths mobilised to attack miners over the death of a food seller.
According to the report, the food seller, Wumi Babatope, had hawked food to Afon village on Monday and did not return home while her husband raise the alarm, which led residents to find her corpse at a mining site naked during a search party.
The youths suspected the miners raped her to death and dumped her body as enraged youth started mobilised to attack the miners, accusing them of involvement in the food seller’s death.
While confirming the incident, Spokesperson of Osun Police Command, SP Yemisi Opalola, told said police operatives have been deployed to the community and were pacifying the parties involved.
