FLOOD: Damages Recorded As Residents Flee Homes In Osun

A lots of damages recorded in some communities in Osun State due to the havoc wreaked in the recent downpour on Tuesday in some part of Osun State

OSUNREPORTEES NEWS confirmed that the rain started around 9:30pm on Monday fell heavily through the night to Tuesday morning in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Report from our correspondent in Osogbo revealed that the rain destroyed some homes and businesses in the State capital and some neighbouring communities where the rain rendered some residents homeless as flood took over some communities.

Many residents of Oke-Baale, Olorunsogo communities in Osogbo fled home to avoid being caught up in another round of heavy rain, while shop owners in the communities also suffered losses as their business materials were badly affected by the flood as a tenant’s car was reportedly damaged at Oke-Baale, when a fence collapsed on it due to the weakened from flood and rain washed away some planks at a popular sawmill at Oke-Baale.

While residents of Oke-Ijetu community lamented the ruins caused by the rain, the flood destroyed properties at Olaiya area in Osogbo.


Victims of flood in Osogbo have called on the state government to come to their aid by continue widen the river channel at their communities while they look forward to philanthropic gesture of individuals in supporting them in both kind, cash and materials to redeem their loss.
