HATE SPEECH: FG Arrests Osun Freelance Broadcaster, Rotimi Jolayemi ‘Oba Akewi’

The arrest was ordered by the minister of Information and culture, Alh Lai Muhammed through the office of Inspector General of Police.

Oba Akewi surrendered himself to the department of Intelligence Response Team on Wednesday, March 6th at Kwara State Command, Ilorin after three of his family members were arrested and detained for a week.

The OAP duo recently released a bombshell 20min audio recording (Ewi) that speaks about the state of the Nation on covid-19 pandemic, President Buhari and Information Minister, Lai Muhammed in particular interpreted as hate speech.

Comrade Rotimi Jolayemi popularly known as Oba Akewi is a reputable member and incumbent Vice Chairman of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) Osun State Chapter.

He was transferred to Abuja on Thursday 7th May, 2020 for trial.

All efforts of the Osun State FIBAN Chairman, Olugbade Olu-Oluomo with a senior legal practitioner to resolve the matter proved abortive, while some important personalities, top politicians and well recognized Royal fathers in Kwara State already stepped into action on the matter, as hope to resolve with the FG/ALM and settle out of court is rising.
