How Clash Between Egungun Worshipers And Muslims Killed One, Injured 12 In Osogbo
A clash between masquerade worshipers and Muslims in Osogbo, Osun State capital was reportedly resulted to the death of one person while 12 others sustained gunshot injuries on Sunday, OSUN REPORTERS NEWS gathered.
According to the report, masquerade worshipers shot at the Muslims while worshipping at Kamorudeen Central Mosque in Oluode Aranyin area, Osogbo on Sunday, 27th June, 2021 where children were part of the injured victims.
Some of the victims of the ugly incident who were currently undergoing treatment at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo are Taofik Fatai, Abduljeleel Ali, Malik Abdukabir, Adebayo Awolesin among others.
An eyewitness who spoke anounimusly narrated that Kamorudeen Islamic Society of Nigeria organised a special prayer for the unity of Nigeria which was attended by members of the organisation within and outside the state capital while masquerade worshippers allegedly led by a man simply identified as Kayode launched the attack on them where the Baba Ijo of the mosque simply identified as Moshood Salawudeen was killed in the process.
“We were attacked during a special prayer organized for Nigeria. The masquerade gang was led by Mr Kayode where stoned and shot at us and shot the leader of the organisation in Iwo, Osun State, Moshood Salawudeen to death while many were injured and destroyed the mosque.”
