,,,,There are strong indications that President Bola Tinubu’s Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, is still a serving member of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

,,,,,Emmanuel Onwubiko, the Director of Human Rights Writers Association— Huriwa, in a scathing statement he made available to NewsBand, said that the Minister is a corp member with the following registration number, FC/23A/505 and currently posted to a law firm located in the Wuse area of Abuja.

Minister Hannatu Musawa

,,,,,Recall that Musawa was the last Ministerial nominee to be screened by the Senate.

…..Akpabio-led rubber stamp Senate during screening, only asked Ms. Musawa to “take a bow and go” without interrogating about her academic qualifications, including the controversy surrounding her NYSC discharge certificate.

,,,,,Onwubiko in the statement further disclosed that the 9th Senate rejected Musawa’s nomination by former President Muhammadu Buhari as a commissioner representing the Northwest at the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).

,,,,,,Her inability to submit her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) certificate was cited as reason for her rejection by Ahmed Lawan-led Senate.

He also alleged that years back, Musawa abandoned her NYSC in Ebonyi State but later showed interest to complete…..the program which she was later mobilised in 2023 before President Tinubu picked her as a Ministerial nominee.

,,,,,,The latest revelation by Onwubiko, however, has further put a question ‘mark’ on President Tinubu’s administration that has been battling for legitimacy following the controversy surrounding the election that brought him to power.

Though, one wonders why the correct status of Musawa was not made known to the members of the general public. Moreover, the kind of scrutiny being conducted….by the Department of State Services—DSS, also calls for concern.

,,,,,,Meanwhile, attempts to reach out to a spokesman of the government over this disturbing revelation, could not pull through.
