N-POWER: Hope Rises As Gov Fayemi Gives Update On Exit Package For Disengaged Beneficiaries
After five months of disengaging about 500,000 npower beneficiaries across Nigeria, there seems to be rise of hope for the exited N-Power beneficiaries over the exit package or transition promised them.
As reported by Kiri on the telegram channel of ‘The 36 States and FCT Npower Forum’, an interactive session between the Ekiti State Youths and Governor of the State Dr. John Kayode Fayemi was held on the 1st of November 2020.
During the chat with Fayemi, the youths tasked the Governor to use his good office as the chairman of Nigeria Governor’s forum to speak to the presidency to give the exited Npower beneficiaries exit package.
Governor Fayemi responded by saying that work is ongoing seriously at the presidency about the exit package, that they should expect it soonest.
The issue of exit package demanded by the exited beneficiaries has been a contentious issue between the government and exited beneficiaries.
While announcing their exit on June the minister of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq had promised to transit qualified beneficiaries into government entrepreneurship programs.
The Governor’s assurance is coming four months after the ministers promise as the exited beneficiaries can only hope this information is genuine.
