Osogbo Daughters Association Visits, Donates To The Less-Privileged ‘Homes’ In Osogbo

It was a joyous moment for the Beneficiaries of this Year 2023 Donation Project by the Osogbo female indigenous group known as Osogbo Daughters Association (ODA) to the less-privileged people in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The group, through its special annual contribution to the development of the society, has on Saturday reached out to the less-privileged and people with special needs in three different locations within Osogbo, OsunReporters News gathered.

The President of Osogbo Daughters Association, Alhaja Olajumoke Bello, led other members of the group to visit FOMWAN Orphanage, OgoOluwa Area of Osogbo; Little Angels Of Fatima Catholic Home, Jaleyemi Area Osogbo and the Children Correctional Unit (Juvenile Home) of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, Testing Ground Area, Osogbo to donate the different needed items to the needy which include; foodstuffs, refrigerator, beverages, toiletries and cash donations, among others.

While speaking, Alhaja Olajumoke Bello explained that the courtesy visit and donation is to rekindle hope in the less-privileged children and adults, adding that the gesture is an assurance to the less-privileged people that the society remembers, loves and cherishes them.

According to her, “Our joy is seeing the excitement and hope raised in the needy, when we arrived with the items. We are trying to let these children know that irrespective of your condition, you still have a chance in life.

“Since we started this annual reach-out about 10 years ago, we have executed Corporate Social Responsibility activities of impactful value for various sectors like communities, women advocacy, orphanages/juvenile homes, health and education generally among the youths, and girl-child education advocacy, among others,” ODA President said.

Alhaja Olajumoke Bello further explained how some Osogbo eminent personalities have been supporting the kind gestures of the association to do more for the society. She specially thanked the Grand Matron of ODA, former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Otunba Titi Tomori-Ponnle and the Patron, Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Khamis Olatunde Badmus.

In their separate reactions, Alhaja Kudirat Nofiu who is the Chairperson of FOMWAN Ventures, spoke on behalf of Osun State FOMWAN Osogbo; Reverend Sister Mary Elizabeth Akinlotan, Sister-in-Charge of Little Angels Of Fatima Catholic Home, Osogbo and Mrs Bukola Mary Afolabi, Social/Welfare Officer-in-Charge of Children Correctional Unit (Juvenile Home) of the Osun State Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs Osogbo, gave kudos to the donors for not only visiting but also donating handsomely the needed materials to the less-privileged, adding that both the materials and cash donations will be instrumental in taking care of the children in this current economic challenges.

All the beneficiaries of this Year 2023 Annual Project also pray to Almighty God to continue to provide more, and guide all members of the *Osogbo Daughters Association to be able to continue in the right path of giving back to the society.
