The governor of the State of Osun, Mr Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola has been commended for the implementation of the governance style that has endeared his administration to the people.

This was made by a National Vice President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Prince Ibitoye Felix Adeniran popularly known as Kilomodemo (KLM), came on the heels of the 28th anniversary of the creation of the state.

KLM praised Oyetola for his level headedness and ability to carry the people along with his policies and unique style of administration. According to him, “one can see that the governor meant business from the way he set about implementing his programmes from the first day.

According to him, “Even at the season of 28th years of Osun, there is no better person fit to be in the saddle of leadership in the state than governor Gboyega Oyetola.
“He is the man that the job fits for this time and being a man of action, he is going to go about bringing his policies to bear on the state”.

KLM also used the opportunity to appreciate past governors who in their small way contributed to the success story recorded so far in the state. “We cannot begin to talk about the success story of Osun without making mention of past governors.

“In no small measure, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, Chief Bisi Akande, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Ogbeni Engr Rauf Aregbesola impacted on the state. “Their footprints in the sand of time cannot be erased and the lofty achievements they have accomplished I believe with serve as an inspiration for our present governor,” he said.

Engr Adeniran Ibitoye Kilomodemo KLM urged the people of the state to seize on the opportunity of the state being 28 to work with governor Oyetola in order to move the state forward. “We need to work together with the governor to move the state forward. The challenge now is great and I see this governor as a man who is ready to work with the people.

“The people should avail themselves of this opportunity. Now is the time”. KLM maintained that the administration of Gboyega Oyetola is one of continuity, adding that it has continued the transformation of Osun from where the last administration left off,” KLM added.

He stated that the governor promised to pay full salary to all our workers and pensioners and has not defaulted. “He also promised to rebuild, remodel and carry out total rehabilitation of existing school buildings in series 4 classrooms, 5 classrooms, 6 classrooms, 8 classrooms, 10, 15 and 20 classrooms at a maximum of 50 pupils/students per class, to cater for communities at 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 750 pupils per school.

“In line with this, he has commissioned completed projects in Telemu and Morinu, in Olaoluwa and Iwo local government areas respectively which is a pointer to better days ahead, while the governor said, “We have also reconstructed and equipped 11 fire service stations, with 14 fire fighting vehicles to give confidence to the fire fighters in the discharge of their life and property saving duties. We did that, because security is meaningless without safety.”

In nine months, since the inauguration of Gnoyega Oyetola, the state won the nation’s Most Peaceful State Award. “The governor has repealed that the state is partnering with other South West states to strengthen security in the region and that soon the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) will commence operation to fortify the area.

“Osun is contributing 20 Armoured Personnel Carriers and other ideas and logistics to further guarantee the security of lives and property of the citizens in our state and region.”

KLM stated that the achievements of the governor included; revamping the state’s health sector and earning a second place in the World Bank’s Save One Million Lives (SOML) initiative, advanced stage of work on the massive revitalisation of hospital facilities in Ejigbo and Ifetedo in Osun West and Osun East senatorial districts respectively.

He added that the administration had on assumption of office, commenced work on the revitalisation of nine General Hospitals and 332 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) – one per ward – across the state. At the last count, he noted, about 100 PHCs have been completed, but awaiting commissioning.

The government, he noted, has also instituted the National Insurance Scheme to deliver affordable healthcare to workers while offering free health services to the vulnerable under the scheme. “There is no doubt that Oyetola is going to build on the good legacies of his predecessors and even more.

“There are already testimonies to attest the fact that he has set about doing his work”.
