Osun APC Members Protest Against LG Caretaker List, Submit Petition To State Assembly
Protest against the recent Local Government Caretaker nominees in Osun State has reportedly ongoing in Osogbo, Osun State Capital by members of the All Progressives Congress in Iwo, Ola-Oluwa and Obokun local government areas of Osun State.
The protesters, who on Monday afternoon stormed the state House of Assembly in a protest against the Nominees of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the Local Government areas.
The protesters were seeing with different inscription on their placards which includes ‘Iwo APC is not a family affair’, ‘Iwo Youths are not slaves’, ‘Banik, stay away from Iwo Politics’, “Enough is Enough, O to gee”, “APC is nobody’s property”, “2022 is Shaking”, “Obokun people want Justice”, among others to register their plight..
While addressing the protester after receiving their petition, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Timothy Owoeye, appealed to the protesters to be calm and patient while the House look into the matter, assuring them that Assembly would intervene and look into their petition.
It could be recalled that the Assembly had on Friday read out names of nominees to run the affairs of Local governments, LCDAs and Area Councils across in the state.
