“Osun To Assist 1,000 Youths, Groups To Access National Youth Investment Fund” – Aremo Adelabu

The Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Youth and Sports, Aremo Adegboyega Lateef Adelabu has confirmed the approval of his principal, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to support one thousand Osun youths with National Youth Investment Fund.

Aremo stated this at the prize giving ceremony of online Sports Quiz Competition to mark the 66th birthday of Governor Oyetola on Saturday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, where he commended the efforts of the state ministry of Youth and Sports especially the roll played by the Sports Director, Mrs Caroline Olagunju on the approval of the said fund.

He described Governor Oyetola as a silent achiever who is making difference in the lives of the people of Osun adding that, the giant stride of Governor Oyetola in all sectors ranging from the economy, infrastructure and enabling environment for health, security among others.

Youth and Sports Special Adviser further stated that, immediately he assumed Office on the 27th July, 2020, he swung into action in ensuring the Osogbo township stadium meet the budding talents that spread across all Sporting lines, adding that the Ministry has embark on rehabilitation of the stadium, particularly the pitch to make it easy for the State teams to play good football as soon as the league kick-starts.

In his words, “Let me use this avenue to inform Osun Youths that Governor Oyetola has approved the training of 1,000 Osun Youths and by extension, 1000 different groups who shall have access to the National Youth Investment Fund through the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports at five percent interest and payable within three years.

“The registration process will be made available through online registration link where every interested youth will be registered across Osun through the State Ministry of Youths and Sports.

“In sports, I want to assure you that, Governor Oyetola loves Excellence and good performance, success and appreciate medals. He has promised to fund Sports and continue to support any idea that will lead to the progress of the Sport sector in Osun.

“He has assured us that henceforth, the salary of all athletes will be paid as at when due and that, Osun State will continue to be hosted at every national tournament/competitions. I want to say that the Ministry will support all sports federations to focus on initiatives and programmes that will lead to the revival of sports in tertiary, high Schools and grassroots level.


“By the Grace of God, Osun United will play in the Nigeria National League (NNL), Osun Babes will participate in the Nigeria Women Premier League while the performing athletes and coaches will not be left behind whenever the National Sports festival and National Youth Games are taking place”. Adelabu explained.
