Protest In Osun Over Sacked 1,500 OAUTH Staff
To register their dismay, One-thousand-five-hundred staff at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC) stormed the hospital on Thursday in protest against their sack by the management of the hospital.
According to report, the affected employees were on Wednesday asked to desist from coming to work.
The enraged one-thousand-five-hundred staff lamented that they were laid off after working for months without pay.
However, the management of the teaching hospital employed the workers in 2022, while the Federal Government said that the management and some workers were involved in job racketeering, leading to their sack.
Angered by the development, the affected workers besieged the hospital’s main gate on Thursday, chanting…….solidarity songs to express their grievances, asking the management to rescind its decision.
According to Channels Television, the main gate of the hospital was shut, and workers were not allowed entry. Also, services were disrupted by the protest.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,At the time of filing this repory, the management of the hospital has yet to react to the development. Efforts to get the spokesperson to comment on it failed as she did not respond to several telephone calls put to her.
