Three ‘Yahoo guys’ Jailed In Ibadan (Photos)
Securing the conviction of three internet fraudsters in Ibadan, Oyo State, capital, the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has succeeded in sentencing Temitope Joel Adepoju and Toba Agbanah by Justice Patricia Ajoku of the Federal High Court, Ibadan, on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 and Thursday, July 9, 2020 respectively.
Adepoju bagged eight months prison term for one-count of criminal impersonation, and additionally ordered that he forfeits $2,775 (Two Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy-Five United States Dollars) and all items recovered from him to the Federal government, while Agbanah got six months imprisonment for one-count charge of the same offence, while Agbanah was ordered to restitute a total sum of N12,104,753.93k (Twelve Million, One Hundred and Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty-Three Naira, Ninety-Three kobo) to his victims and to forfeit his laptops, expensive phones, electronics to the Federal government apart from the jail term.
Meanwhile, Justice Joyce Malik of the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division, also convicted and sentenced Yomi Rilwan Olasupo to 10 months imprisonment after finding him guilty of fraudulent impersonation, leveled against him by Ibadan Zonal Office of the Commission.
