Tinubu Makes 9 New Appointments (Full List)

….In a strategic move to enhance the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), President Bola Tinubu has appointed Senator Heineken Lokpobiri as Chairman and Felix Omatsola Ogbe as the Executive Secretary of the board.

….The appointments were announced through a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, currently serving as the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Chairman.

The Executive Secretary position, previously held by Engr Simbi Wabote, will now be assumed by Felix Omatsola Ogbe. Engr Simbi Wabote had been at the helm of affairs at NCDMB since September 2016 and was reappointed in September 2020 for a second term.

The Governing Council and Management team of NCDMB will also include key industry figures, such as Oritsemyiwa Eyesan, the Executive Vice Chairman Upstream of NNPC Limited, and Gbenga Komolafe, CEO of NUPRC, among others.

President Tinubu, in accordance with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act (2010), approved the appointments, emphasizing his commitment to promoting indigenous content participation in the energy industry.

The statement released highlighted the individuals appointed to key roles within the Board:

President Tinubu expressed optimism that the appointed members would leverage their expertise to contribute significantly to achieving the administration’s goal of attaining a 70% indigenous content participation in the energy industry.


This development underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering growth and sustainability within the Nigerian energy sector, tapping into the wealth of talent and experience of the appointed individuals.
