Tragedy As LG Worker Slumps, Dies In Office
,,,,,A worker at Bolorunduro, Ondo East Local Government Area of Ondo State, simply identified as Mathew, has slumped and died in his office.
Daily Trust learnt that Matthew, who lived at Elemosi in Ondo town, suddenly slumped and died a few minutes later in his office.
,,,,The deceased, according to co-workers, had come to the office on Friday and later proceeded to have his breakfast in his vehicle parked inside the LGA.
One of the co-workers, who does not want his name mentioned, revealed that it was surprising when Matthew returned to the office and joined his colleagues in some discussion but suddenly slumped and efforts to revive him failed.
“He had no sign of ailment at all. This is shocking to us. We had to rush him to the hospital at Bolorunduro but doctors confirmed that he was dead on arrival. His death is just beyond our imagination,” he said.
Several efforts by Daily Trust to speak to the deceased’s wife proved abortive as family sources claimed she was grieving.
,,,,One of the family sources, however, revealed that burial rites were being planned by the immediate family of the deceased.
When contacted, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, confirmed the incident in a chat on Saturday.
,,,She explained that the police were investigating the true cause of the death of the deceased, stressing that his remains had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
