Ogun State Attorney General and Justice Commissioner Akingbolahan Adeniran has resigned from Governor Dapo Abiodun’s government.

There are many rumors circulating that Adeniran resigned his appointment due to alleged “massive corruption” under the current administration of Ogun State.

However, it was learned that the attorney general handed in his resignation letter on November 8, but the state government has been silent since the letter was received.

Ogun’s Information and Strategy Commissioner Waheed Odusile, contacted on Monday evening, November 15, denied the attorney general’s resignation.

When asked if Adeniran had really resigned, Odusile replied that “This is not true.”

However, Adeniran, who did not respond to several calls and messages sent to him earlier, later confirmed that he had resigned from his post.
Although the incumbent gave no reason for his decision, he said it was not the result of “massive corruption” within the government.

In a statement made available to reporters by Gov Abiodun’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Emmanuel Ojo, Adeniran said: “It is true that on November 8, 2021, I officially informed His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, the state governor, about my decision to resign from the cabinet.
Nevertheless, the lawyer declared: “I must specify that the reasons for my resignation are purely personal. I am not aware of any “massive corruption” within the Administration and I am indeed very proud of what we have been able to accomplish in the administration of justice over the past two years.

While listing some of his accomplishments, Adeniran assured Abiodun and other members of his cabinet of his continued support, saying he truly enjoyed working with those he called an incredible group of administrators, technocrats and experts in various fields of activity.

“I have learned a lot from all of you and I pray that God will continue to use you to improve the lives of the good people of Ogun State,” he prayed.
