‘Hit & Run Driver’ Knocks Road Safety Officer In Osun
It was a tragic scene in Osogbo the Osun State Capital when a personnel of the Osun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), was hit and injured by a Lexus Jeep while on duty.
According to report, the hit and run accident occurred on Friday near the Osun Government Secretariat, along the Gbongan-Osogbo Road.
Report revealed that the driver of the vehicle was at top speed when FRSC personnel at a roadblock waved him to stop, but the driver travelling in a Lexus Jeep, did not stop and hit the FRSC officer, dragged him along the road until the victim fell off the vehicle.
While confirming the incident, the Osun FRSC Sector Commander, Inyang Umoh, revealed that the injured officer was in stable condition.
Acvording to Umoh; “The officer is in stable condition. We are making efforts to get the driver of the vehicle. He has not been arrested yet.”
At the time of filing this report, the driver was still absconded.
