Lawyer who allegedly assaulted by Road Safety Officers Hospitalised (Photos)

,,,,,An Ondo-based lawyer, Barr. Olarotimi Omomuwasan was allegedly assaulted to a point of being hospitalised today, Thursday 9th November, 2023, by road safety officers ,one of them identified by name to be K. O. Agede, on Federal road at Ogbere community in Ogun State.

….The lawyer was rushed to the General Hospital in Ogbere for urgent medical attention.

It was gathered that the lawyer was coming from Alagbon Police Station in Lagos after he had settled with the police in respect of a petition written by his clients against some people .

The road safety Officers in their vehicle with the number plate:953RS also written boldly 2218 at the sides of their vehicle were waving the car he boarded to stop while the said driver was trying to park properly in avoiding the heavy truck behind the car not to hit it one road safety officer named K. O. Agede hit the car with the stick held in his hand and caused the wind screen to crack and broke the right side mirror which caused wound at the right hand side of the lawyer.

…..The lawyer said upon the injury inflicted on his hand he alighted from the car to educate them that using stick to cause the degree of assault and damage to the vehicle as experienced falls below the required professional standard expected of a trained road safety officer but instead of them to yield to words of wisdom they descended on the lawyer with stick as if they were after hardened criminal. The lawyer eventually landed in the General Hospital Ogbere,Ijebu East Local Government, Ogun State.

,,,,Meanwhile, in a statement by the lawyer, Olarotimi Omomuwasan said he will take up the matter after his total recovery from the shock and injury he sustained to ensure that the officers involved do not go unpunished.
