Police Arrest Two Fake Soldiers In Osogbo, Arraigned In Court

Two fake soldiers identified as Abolaji Gabriel (35) and Samuel Mathew (20) were arraigned by the Osun State police command on Tuesday before an Osun Magistrate court sitting in Osogbo over alleged Impersonation.

According to the report, Police prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegu told the court that the suspects committed the offence on 16th August, 2020 at 10:00pm at old garage area, Osogbo, alleging that the defendants did commit felony to wit unlawful possession and wearing of complete Nigeria Army uniform in an attempt to commit felony to wit robbery

According to the prosecutor, the offense committed by the suspects contravened Section 516,109,428 (d) and 599 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun state 2002.

On behalf of the accused, the Defence Counsel, Bola Abimbola Ige pleaded not guilty to the allegations slammed against them.

He applied for the bail of the accused persons in most liberal term, promising that they will provide reliable sureties and will not jump bail.

In his ruling, Magistrate Abayomi Ajala granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100,000 each with one surety in like sum.

He, thereafter, adjourned the case till September 29, 2020 for further hearing.
