Osun PDP Elects Two Governorship candidates

Prince Dotun Babayemi and Senator Ademola Adeleke have emerged the candidates of the Wale Ojo and Soji Adagunodo led factions of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State.

OSUNREPORTERS NEWS earlier reported that the party was holding a parallel primaries in the state capital, Osogbo.

The Adeleke camp held the primary election at Osogbo city stadium, while Dotun Babayemi’s faction used WOCDIF event centre as venue both in the state capital.

…Leaders of the party who were at the Babayemi’s election are; Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola – former governor, Erelu Olusola Obada – former deputy governor, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, Chief Olu Alabi, Chief Tajudeen Oladipo, among others.

,,,,,Those attended the Adeleke’s camp election are; Chief Ajeigbe, Prof. Wale Oladipo, Hon. Bunmi Jenyo, Hon. Clement Akanni, Alh. Gani Olaoluwa etc.

Announcing, the result of the factional primaries which held at Wocdif centre, Osogbo, the Chief Returning officer, Hon. Adelani Ajanaku noted that Dotun Babayemi pulled 1781 votes, adding that even though some other aspirants have stepped down from the contest, they still made some votes.

Other aspirants at the Soji Adagunodo’s led faction who contested again Babayemi are;
Sanya Omirin pulled 16 votes
Akin Ogunbiyi 23 votes
Fatai Akinbade 28 votes
Dele Adeleke pulled 32 votes.


Ademola Adeleke was declared winner being the only aspirant from his camp.
