So Sad!! Osogbo Council Boss, Musa Adegoke, Sympathizes With Victim Of Collapsed Building That Claims life In Osogbo

Part of a residential building has reportedly collapsed at 8, Kegbe compound, Kajola street in Osogbo, the capital city of Osun state.

It was gathered that one out of the old ‘face to face’ six rooms building collapsed suddenly on Wednesday evening.

One of the occupants in the said building, Mr. Arowolo Mutiu, who spoke with OSUN REPORTERS correspondent at the site of the incident on Thursday, confirmed that the victim was rescued and rushed to Oke-baale Hospital which was latter referred immediately to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Osogbo before he latter died on the way to Lautech.

Arowolo Mutiu said, “I was in my room eaten dinner when I had the sound of the collapsed wall of the house, I rushed out to see, and rescued the affected boy identified as Jide (age 11 or 12) who was passing by the wall, we rushed him to the hospital but latter gave up”

OSUNREPORTERS also gathered that, the victim has been buried by his family who also resides in Osogbo, and not intend to press any charges against the other family.

“We’ve been to the Jide’s parents to explained the ugly incident, while the Osogbo Local government led by Hon. Musa Adegoke also visited us on Thursday. As I’m speaking with you, our house has been locked up by the Local government authority,” Mutiu added.

The Osogbo local government boss, Hon Musa Adegoke while speaking with our correspondent, sympathised with the affected families on behalf of the local government.

The council boss added that, there are many defective structures in some part of the local government, while government had stepped up the measures to rid the state of the distressed buildings so as to prevent loss of lives and property due to sudden collapse.


Asiwaju Musa Adegoke, concluded that all identified distress buildings has been duly served the necessary statutory notice while the government has ready started the demolition of some of such buildings to avoid any future hazards.
