Buhari reacts to Soludo’s victory as Anambra governor
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired), congratulated a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Charles Soludo, for winning the election of Anambra governorate in 2021.
However, it was reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Soludo the winner of the election held on November 6 on Wednesday.
Responding, Buhari, in a Facebook post, urged the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate to address the challenges facing Anambra state and the Southeast.
He wrote: “I congratulate Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) – and member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Committee (PEAC) – on his victory in the elections for governor of the State of Anambra.
I congratulate the security agencies for their determination to ensure that the election goes as smoothly as possible, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) for the success of the exercise, despite the initial difficulties encountered.
“I call on Professor Soludo to rally other stakeholders to address the enormous challenges facing Anambra State and the South East in general.
“I look forward to working with him for the peace, security and development of Anambra State and the country as a whole.
